Voluntary Assisted Dying

Queensland became the fifth Australian state to pass voluntary assisted dying legislation in September 2021.

The Act sets out a legal process for people who are suffering and dying from an advanced and progressive life-limiting condition access to voluntary assisted dying. Jeanette Wiley, a retired registered nurse who worked in Palliative care for over 30 years joins us to discuss what the bill entails, what happens now and the eligibility criteria.
