At Burnie Brae we are passionate about supporting a variety of causes, particularly those which may affect our community. We have chosen to partner with RizeUp, a not-for-profit, domestic violence support organisation providing life-changing, practical support to more than 1070 families across Queensland.

RizeUp’s ‘Homes Program’ involves the donation of common home goods, which allows volunteers to set up and furnish homes, allowing families to focus on rebuilding their lives, and supporting children as they start at a new school. The program can reduce the likelihood of homelessness and families returning to the perpetrator due to financial hardship or lack of resources.

What can I donate?

We have created a calendar to include a wishlist of items each month. View here

Where do I drop my donations?

Please drop your donations to our reception at Burnie Brae Centre – 60 Kuran Street, Chermside. We have convenient, free onsite parking right outside reception with disability access.

Thank you for your continued support of this initiative. If you would like to learn more about RizeUp or volunteer, check out their website here.

If you are questioning whether you or someone you know may be experiencing domestic violence please call 1800RESPECT on 1800 737 732. Even if you are just beginning to get a bad feeling or would like to talk through past experiences, calling can be a great start.
