Support at home
At Burnie Brae, care and connection are central to our mission. We're dedicated to offering the support you need to thrive in the comfort of your own home, even when faced with health challenges. We provide a range of care services tailored to your needs, with the level of services depending on your funding levels.
Support at Home is the Australian Government’s upcoming aged care reform, designed to replace the current Home Care Packages system. It’s now scheduled to begin on 1 November 2025 (delayed from the original 1 July start) along with aged care reforms.
The goal is to make aged care services simpler, more flexible and more aligned with your needs - helping you stay safe, comfortable and independent at home for longer.
Assistance with housework tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation, as well as garden and home maintenance and repairs to ensure your home remains safe and accessible.
Support with personal care tasks, including bathing, showering and toileting. We also help with dressing, getting in and out of bed, washing, hair drying, grooming and medication reminders.
Meaningful companionship through flexible in-home respite with a carer for one-on-one support, as well as access to our centre-based day respite for activities and outings.
Local, personalised and accessible car, van and bus transport for community outings, shopping, appointments and social gatherings, providing door-to-door service and baggage assistance.
Clinical care provided by qualified professionals including Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Exercise Physiology and Massage Therapy, as well as by medication management and basic wound care by Burnie Brae's Registered Nurses.
