Our Story

Burnie Brae’s journey began in 1984, following seven years of passionate fundraising by the Rotary Club of Chermside. Our name comes from the historic homestead that once stood on the site - Burnie Brae - and from the beginning, we’ve been a vibrant hub for the North Brisbane community.

What started as a local centre offering social activities has grown into a leading provider of aged care, wellness, and community support services. Over the decades, we’ve expanded to include respite care, home maintenance, a café, an exercise studio, and so much more.

Today, we are proud to offer a thriving Community Centre located in Chermside, and we’ve expanded our care and allied health services across Brisbane North and the Moreton Bay region. This growth allows us to reach even more individuals and families, delivering the same level of personal, compassionate support we're known for.

Our mission has remained the same: to support older adults to live independently, stay connected and lead enriched, meaningful lives.

We are proud of our legacy, but even more excited about the future. As the aged care landscape continues to evolve, we remain committed to adapting, innovating, and growing alongside our community.

All of our people are qualified in their fields and undergo ongoing training to ensure we continue to provide the highest quality care and support.
