Keeping your home safe, secure and comfortable
Great for: seniors who want to stay independent at home with a few simple improvements
This program is designed to help older people and people with a disability live safely at home. It offers practical help with things like:
Minor home repairs
Home maintenance - e.g. mowing, gutter cleans
Accessibility improvements
Home safety checks
Upgrading smoke alarms
Eligibility: You may qualify if you’re a homeowner aged over 60 with a current Pension Concession Card, or any age with a disability. Other criteria apply, such as not being in other assistance programs.
Just need a bit of help here and there?
Great for: people who want to stay active and social, with a bit of support at home.
CHSP is a great starting point if you’re still independent but could use a hand with everyday tasks. It covers things like:
Transport to appointments or shopping
Social activities and outings
Allied health (like physio or podiatry)
Help with cleaning, meal prep, or personal care
It’s flexible, entry-level support to keep you active and independent.
Eligibility: Aged 65 years or older (or 50 years or older for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people), and needing support to live independently and safely at home. You must register and be assessed with My Aged Care to receive referral codes for services.
Need more regular or complex care?
Great for: people with ongoing care needs who want a personalised care plan.
Home Care Packages offer more funding and a tailored care plan to suit your lifestyle. Depending on your needs, support can include:
Personal care (e.g. showering, dressing)
Nursing and clinical care
Housework and home help
Transport and social support
Allied health and therapy services
We’ll work with you to build a care plan that suits your goals, preferences, and routines.
Eligibility: Aged 65 years or older (or 50 years or older for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people), and coordinated, ongoing support to remain living safely and independently at home. You must register and be assessed with My Aged Care to be allocated a package.
*From 1 November 2025, Support at Home will replace the current Home Care Packages system.
Prefer to arrange care yourself or need something sooner?
Great for: anyone wanting full flexibility or care while waiting for funding approval.
Private funding gives you full control. It can be a great option if:
