If you're caring for a loved one, you know how rewarding it can be. You also know that caring for someone doesn't stop at 5 pm. It's the appointments, the shopping, the check-ins, the planning, and often putting someone else's needs before your own.
While many carers wouldn't have it any other way, everyone needs time to rest and recharge. That's where Club Respite at Burnie Brae can help.
Time for You, Peace of Mind for Them
Whether you need a few hours to attend appointments, catch up with friends, run errands or simply enjoy some time for yourself, respite care can provide the support you need.
Club Respite offers a safe, welcoming and engaging environment where your loved one can enjoy their day while you're able to take a well-earned break, knowing they're in caring hands.
A Day They'll Look Forward To
One of the biggest concerns carers often have is, "Will they enjoy it?"
The answer is usually yes.
At Club Respite, participants enjoy a relaxed and social atmosphere where they can connect with others, make new friends and take part in activities that suit their interests.
From live music, arts and crafts, bingo and games to scenic outings, theatre trips and visits to local attractions like the beach, there's always something happening. Freshly prepared meals and friendly conversations are all part of the experience too.
Many participants quickly begin looking forward to their Club Respite days and the friendships they build along the way.
Caring for the Carer Matters Too
As a carer, it's easy to focus on everyone else's wellbeing and forget about your own.
Taking regular breaks isn't selfish - it's essential. Having time to rest, attend to your own health, pursue hobbies or simply enjoy a quiet cup of coffee can help you maintain your wellbeing and continue caring with confidence.
Club Respite is designed to support both participants and carers, because when carers are supported, everyone benefits.
Flexible Support When You Need It
Some carers use respite regularly as part of their weekly routine, while others access it only when extra support is needed.
Club Respite is flexible and can be tailored to suit your circumstances. Transport is available from selected locations, making it even easier to access the service.
Not Sure Where to Start?
If you or your loved one receives Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) funding, you'll need a referral code for centre-based respite through My Aged Care.
For those with a Support at Home package, speak with your Care Partner about including respite services in your care plan.
Services can also be accessed privately or through brokered arrangements with another provider.
If you don't currently receive aged care funding but would like to explore your options, you can apply for support through My Aged Care. Our team is happy to help point you in the right direction and answer any questions along the way.
Come and See for Yourself
We know that taking the first step can sometimes feel overwhelming. That's why we're offering a free morning tea trial at Club Respite.
It's a chance for both you and your loved one to visit, meet the team, ask questions and experience the welcoming atmosphere before making any decisions.
