Margaret’s passion for dancing once filled her life - from ballroom to jive and rock ’n’ roll. But after undergoing two knee surgeries, she began to wonder if she’d ever get back to doing what she loved. The idea of dancing again felt like a distant dream.

That was until she met Aaron, a physiotherapist at Healthy Connections, Burnie Brae’s allied health and wellness centre in Brisbane.

Unlike other physiotherapists she’d seen, Aaron’s approach to aged care physiotherapy was refreshingly different. He didn’t overwhelm her with complicated routines or leave her feeling frustrated. Instead, with calm guidance and a supportive attitude, he helped Margaret feel heard, understood and motivated.

“I’ve been working with Aaron through in-home physiotherapy sessions,” Margaret says.

“What makes him different is how he listens, encourages, and knows exactly how far to push me. I never felt overwhelmed, just supported.”

Thanks to Aaron’s expertise and encouragement, Margaret is no longer relying on her walker and is doing exercises she never thought possible. She’s now looking forward to joining dance classes at Burnie Brae in Chermside and moving to the rhythm once again.
