Home Care Packages Level 3
Home Care Packages Level 3
Home Care Package Level 3 provides the comprehensive support needed to maintain independence at home when you or a loved one requires more than just basic or low-level assistance. Level 3 Home Care Packages are designed to help you continue living comfortably and safely in your home,
with the right level of care and support.
What does a Level 3 Package include?
This package is designed to provide a balanced combination of increased services, allowing you to receive the support you need while maintaining your preferred lifestyle. Focusing on enhancing your comfort and independence, a Level 3 Home Care Package ensures that you can continue to live in your home with confidence and peace of mind.
Typically, a Level 3 Package provides approximately 6-8 hours’ of in-home care services each week, depending on your assessed needs. These services can include but are not limited to:
While all service types are available, what you can access depends on your budget and specific needs. For example, if you don’t require cleaning, shopping or personal care assistance, you might use your funds for clinical care or allied health services. However, if you allocate your entire budget to these areas, you won't have resources left for extensive medical care or specialised equipment.
Extra support options
If you require additional services beyond what your Level 3 package includes, Burnie Brae allows you to privately "top up" your package budget with your own funds.
A Level 3 Home Care Package provides a moderate level of assistance to assist you to remain independent at home. This package provides the right balance of care and support, allowing you to live comfortably and safely in your home.
The funding allocated for a Level 3 Home Care Package is designed to cover the cost of the intermediate level of care needed. This package provides more funding than Level 1 and Level 2 packages, allowing for a broader range of services to be offered.
The value of a Level 3 Home Care Package can vary depending on government contributions and your financial situation. The Department of Health and Aged Care regularly publish the daily rates of subsidies and supplements for aged care (view here).
The subsidy amount you receive may depend on whether you need to pay an income-tested care fee, determined by an income assessment. To get an estimate, you can use this calculator, which considers your income, assets and household details. Keep in mind that the figures are approximate, and the exact amount will depend on your financial situation when entering care and your chosen provider
.
Your Burnie Brae Care Coordinator can help you understand the specifics of your package and how the funding can be used to meet your needs.
The highest level of Home Care Package is Level 4, designed for individuals with complex care needs. It offers extensive services and higher funding, making it ideal for those requiring intensive personal care, specialised health services or greater assistance with daily activities.
.
Regularly reviewing your care needs with your provider ensures you receive the right level of support. If your needs change, you can request a reassessment through My Aged Care to determine eligibility for a higher level of support and adjust your care plan accordingly.
Yes, self-funded retirees can access Home Care Packages. Eligibility is based on assessing care needs rather than financial status alone. Self-funded retirees who meet the assessment criteria can receive support through a Home Care Package, ensuring they have the care they need regardless of their financial situation.
.
It’s important to note that while the government funds the package, individuals may need to contribute to the cost of their care depending on their financial situation. This co-contribution helps to ensure that care is accessible while also sharing the responsibility for funding.
To receive a Level 3 Home Care Package, you must first be assessed by an Aged Care Assessment Team (ACAT). They will review your care needs, health status and living situation to determine your eligibility and whether a Level 3 package is right for you.
Start your care journey and continue living life on your terms!
